Google has been finding more ways to make Gemini a part of your daily routine, from putting together playlists to ordering groceries through your favorite apps. Now it’s expanding those capabilities to more services, with Google Search joining in, too.

The company has announced a new Connected Apps Platform that makes it easier for developers to bring their services to both Gemini and Search. Alongside this, Google is adding new partners to its growing lineup, bringing more of the apps people already use into its AI ecosystem.

Google wants all your apps under one roof

Google has already rolled out more than 50 Connected Apps across Gemini and Search, covering everything from productivity and entertainment to fitness and event bookings. Some familiar names are on the list — Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are already available through Gemini, with Google planning to bring them to Search in the coming weeks. Calm, the popular meditation and sleep app, is also joining the mix and will be available across both platforms.

The idea is to make tasks a little more convenient. For instance, instead of moving between apps to find information and get something done, you could handle more of the process directly through Gemini or Search. Exactly how that works will depend on the app and what its integration supports, but having more services in one place could save users a fair bit of back-and-forth. And Google isn’t stopping at adding new apps. It’s also changing how developers bring their services to Gemini and Search, which could pave the way for even more integrations down the line.

One integration to rule them all

While the growing list of supported apps is good news for users, there’s another important change that could bring even more services to Gemini and Search. Until now, developers have had to build separate integrations for the two platforms. The new Connected Apps Platform aims to simplify that process by letting them build once and decide whether their app works with Gemini, Search, or both. There’s also a central dashboard where developers can test their integrations, submit them for review, and track performance after launch. With support for both cloud-based services and Android apps, the platform gives more developers a way to bring their apps into the mix.

Google, Console, MCP

So, what does all of this mean for you? Well, making it easier for developers to get on board could mean more of your favorite apps eventually working with Gemini and Search. The more services it supports, the less time you might spend switching between apps to get things done. That said, don’t expect every app to show up overnight. The platform is launching in preview, with access gradually expanding to more developers and markets over the coming months. The features available through each integration may also differ between Gemini and Search.

Google Console, Search

Still, there’s a bigger idea here. Instead of finding something through Search and then going elsewhere to act on it, you could increasingly do both in one place. And as more developers join the platform, that convenience could become one of the most useful parts of the Gemini and Search experience.
