tvOS updates tend to be hit or miss each year. Sometimes WWDC delivers a genuinely exciting set of Apple TV features, and sometimes you’re left wondering why you even tuned in. With tvOS 27 set to be unveiled next month, the rumor mill has been unusually quiet. That said, Apple did confirm at least one new feature this week, and it’s a useful one.
So what’s coming to tvOS 27?
iOS has had a text size accessibility feature that allows users to increase the text size on their iPhone. It’s a godsend feature for anyone with poor eyesight. tvOS has been missing this feature till now, but that is going to change soon with the tvOS 27 update, which Apple will announce at its WWDC 2026 event.
As part of its accessibility updates preview, Apple confirmed that tvOS 27 will introduce a new systemwide text size setting. You will be able to make text larger across the entire interface, not just in a specific app or menu.

This is a bigger deal than it might sound. Right now, there is no clean, universal way to increase the text size on Apple TV. If you find yourself leaning forward to read episode titles or squinting at on-screen menus, that problem will go away with tvOS 27.
Is this the only new feature?
The lack of tvOS 27 rumors is unusual, but WWDC is right around the corner, and Apple tends to save its surprises for the stage. Apple will reveal more tvOS features, but it’s hard to say if there will be any drastic improvements.
It’s possible that some aspects of the upcoming revamped Siri will make their way to current Apple TV models, which would be a welcome bonus. For now, larger text is confirmed, and honestly, it’s one of those features that quietly improves the experience for a lot of people.

I will be happy if Apple improves typing on tvOS, which is buggy and annoying. I would also love to see a new Apple TV 4K hardware that can empower more AI features. Google TV just announced some new AI-powered features, and I would love to see some of them come to Apple TV.
We are about two weeks away from WWDC, so the lack of rumors is concerning, but hopefully Apple has a surprise in store for us.
