This new sporty smartwatch tracks your energy levels in real-time, lasts up to 25 days

Amazfit is expanding its Active line with the Amazfit Active Max, a sporty smartwatch built around BioCharge, a real time energy and readiness score. The company says the score shifts through the day as your training, activity level, and stress change, with the goal of making it easier to decide when to push and when to recover.

That readiness pitch is paired with long battery life. Amazfit claims up to 25 days on a charge in a lightweight design, with support for all day activity tracking and sleep tracking. Active Max is priced at $169 and is out now on Amazfit.com. One feature comes later, podcast playback is scheduled to arrive via a software update in February 2026. The Active Max is the plus version of the Active 2, released early 2025.

BioCharge aims to make recovery clearer

BioCharge is the main reason Active Max exists. Amazfit says it updates based on workouts, overall activity, and stress, turning those signals into a score you can glance at before a hard session.

It also ties into a broader set of health metrics. Using the BioTracker PPG sensor, Active Max continuously monitors heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, and sleep quality, and can alert you to unusually high or low readings. The watch pairs with the Zepp App for deeper insights and longer term trends. If you want to track fitness but not sure if a smartwatch is for you, check out the best fitness trackers out now.

Big screen and storage support the pitch

The rest of the spec sheet is built to keep that data easy to see and easy to use. Amazfit says the 1.5 inch AMOLED display can hit up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help outdoors when you are trying to read live stats.

Active Max also includes 4GB of onboard storage, rated for up to 100 hours of podcast playback, plus free downloadable maps for outdoor use, including more than 2,000 ski resorts with contour details.

What matters most at checkout

If audio is a key reason you are buying, remember the podcast feature is not expected until February 2026. For training, Active Max supports 170 plus sport modes and Zepp Coach guidance, and its Strength Training Mode can detect reps, sets, and rest periods across 25 exercises.

If your priority is a watch that nudges better recovery decisions and does not need constant charging, Active Max is aimed directly at you. If podcasts are the deciding factor, confirm the update is live before you commit.
