This case can turn your iPhone 17 Pro into a selfie powerhouse

Phone cases are usually just about keeping your device safe from dings and scratches. But the new Selfix case from Dockcase does way more than that. It adds a functional display to the back of the iPhone 17 Pro, letting you make the most of its triple-camera setup for selfies.

The Selfix case features a 1.6-inch circular AMOLED screen with a 480 x 480 pixel resolution that can be used as a live viewfinder for selfies and videos. It mirrors the view from the iPhone’s main camera, allowing you to frame shots accurately and capture higher-quality images without relying on the front-facing camera. But that’s not all.

Dockcase has also slipped in some useful extras, including a PD 3.0 USB-C port that supports up to 100W input, a dedicated power button for the display, and a microSD card slot that can expand storage by up to 2TB. The company says that the rear-display offers a lag-free experience and doesn’t require a separate app to work, so you can start clicking high-res selfies as soon as you slap it on.

Coming soon on Kickstarter

If this sounds like something you’d want for your iPhone, you’ll have to hold your horses. Dockcase has yet to share pricing and availability details. The case maker has only revealed that it will be crowdfunded through Kickstarter soon, which is anything but reassuring.

When it lands, the case will be available in Blush Pink, Oat White, and Midnight Black colorways for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. How well the circular screen performs and whether the case reaches backers remains to be seen.

For those who don’t own the latest iPhone 17 Pro models who want something similar, the Xiaomi 17 Pro may be the next best thing. The device features a built-in secondary display on the back, which can do more than just help you frame selfies. However, it costs significantly more than a case with a screen.
