If the selections available in Netflix‘s sci-fi library seem a little sparse, just be glad this isn’t the streamer’s fantasy section. That genre is even more ignored than science fiction. At least Netflix has added titles like Back to the Future, The Adjustment Bureau, and Life to make up for losing the Matrix trilogy, Lucy, and Looper.
That doesn’t mean we don’t want to see more science fiction movies on Netflix; it just doesn’t appear to be a very big priority at the streamer. And after the apparent failure of the big-budget Rebel Moon movies, it’s hard to fault Netflix for not being too eager to make more original sci-fi stories to build out its library.
