TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro serves eye-friendly display with stylus support and it’s headed to the US

TCL unveiled its NXTPAPER 70 Pro at CES 2026. The phone received several awards and accolades at the event thanks to its proprietary NXTPAPER 4.0 technology, which allows users to switch between three display modes for enhanced reading and eye comfort.

The company has brought back its latest NXTPAPER 70 Pro to the ongoing MWC 2026 conference and informed that the phone will soon be launching in the United States. The headline feature of the device is NXTPAPER 4.0, TCL’s latest take on eye-friendly display technology.

The 6.9-inch FHD+ 120Hz panel supports natural light rendering, zero flicker, reduced glare, and blue light purification that can reduce harmful blue light to as low as 3.41%. There’s even an ultra-low 1-nit brightness mode for late-night scrolling.

Under the hood, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 powers the device, paired with 8GB RAM, up to 512GB storage, and a 5,200mAh battery with 33W fast charging. There’s also a 50MP OIS main camera, 8MP ultra-wide, and 32MP front shooter.

A screen that adapts to what you’re doing

If that doesn’t sound too exciting, wait until you hear about its three display modes. The phone has a dedicated NXTPAPER Key, which, with a single press, allows you to switch between Color Paper Mode, Ink Paper Mode, and Max Ink Mode.

Color Paper Mode is designed for regular smartphone use, whether you’re streaming content, browsing the web, or capturing photos and videos. Ink Paper Mode tones things down for reading and longer sessions, reducing distractions and glare.

Then there’s Max Ink Mode, which transforms the display into a near e-reader with a monochrome, paper-like finish. In this mode, the phone can last up to seven days on a single charge, with standby time stretching to as long as 26 days.

The display is not a real e-ink display you can find on phones like the Boox Palma 2, and that’s a good thing. TCL’s NXTPAPER display gives you all the benefits of an e-ink display without the compromises. Then there’s the T-Pen stylus support, which lets users jot down notes, sketch ideas, and annotate documents with a natural writing experience.

Our team tested last generation’s NXTPAPER technology on the TCL NXTPAPER 60 Ultra and had a genuinely great real-world experience.

It’s finally coming to the US

The previous-generation NXTPAPER smartphones by TCL were exclusive to Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific regions. Thankfully, TCL has announced that its latest-generation NXTPAPER 70 Pro will be available in the United States, with the release slated for April 2026.

That said, we still don’t have any pricing details for these devices. If European pricing is any indication, the 256GB base model could land at around $400, while the higher-end 512GB variant may be priced closer to $460.
