Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37. Continuing its push in the mid-range segment, the duo has a mix of familiar hardware and meaningful upgrades.

Both devices stick to a tried-and-tested formula, while also refreshing some aspects like performance, camera improvements, and longevity, rather than any major changes.

What’s new and improved?

One of the biggest updates comes under the hood. The Galaxy A57 is now powered by the Exynos 1680 chipset, while the Galaxy A37 runs on the Exynos 1480 chip, giving a noticeable boost in performance and efficiency. These chips are built on a 4nm process, which should also translate to better power efficiency and sustained performance compared to previous models.

On the camera front, Samsung is relying on a similar setup with a 50MP main camera with a 12 ultra-wide-angle lens (8MP on the A37) and a 5MP macro shooter. But the focus this year is on better low-light photography, with improvements in night shots and overall image processing. So despite the hardware remaining similar, Samsung is clearly leaning on software and AI enhancements to deliver better results.

Familiar setup and long-term support

The company is sticking with what worked with the older models. This includes:

  • Bright 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ displays with 120Hz refresh rate.
  • 5,000mAh battery pack with 45W wired fast charging
  • In-display fingerprint scanners.

There is still no wireless charging or a dedicated lens for zoomed photography.

Though the biggest highlight isn’t hardware — it’s longevity.

Both models ship with Android 16 OS based One UI 8.5 custom skin out of the box, and Samsung promises up to six years of software updates and security patches. This is a big deal in the mid-range segment, which is where most phones typically fall behind when it comes to long-term usability.

The Galaxy A57 is available in Awesome Navy, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac colors with a starting price tag of $549.99. Meanwhile, the Galay A37 is listed in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, and Awesome Graygreen for $449.99.
