If you game, you know how much little things matter. The height of your mouse mat, the friction on the surface, the size, everything affects not only your performance but also how your wrist will feel after a long session.

Razer addresses all of these problems with its new Atlas Pro mouse mat. At just 1.9mm from top to bottom, including the rubber base, the Atlas Pro breaks the sub-2mm barrier for a mousepad for the first time, and is the world’s thinnest glass mouse mat.

The glass layer itself is only 1.1mm thick. For context, most glass mouse mats are over 3mm thick, so this is a genuine leap forward.

But why does thinness matter?

If you’ve ever played games for hours on end, you know the strain it puts on your wrist. Using a thick mouse pad means that there’s an angle between your wrist and your hand that causes extra strain.

The thinner the mat, the smaller the height difference between your computer desk and your mouse surface. That might sound minor, but it creates a more natural wrist position during long gaming sessions, reducing strain and improving comfort. It also makes your entire setup feel more cohesive, since the mat practically blends into the desk.

The Atlas Pro isn’t just thin for the sake of it, though. The tempered glass surface features a 2 µm micro-etched texture that ensures accurate tracking across different sensitivities and play styles.

It’s rated 9H on the hardness scale, so everyday scratches from keys and coins are not a concern. A protective coating also keeps it easy to wipe clean.

Is it worth the upgrade?

If you already own the original Atlas from 2023, the Pro adds an 11% larger surface area at 500 x 400mm, CNC-milled rounded edges that are gentle on your wrists, and the same full-coverage rubber base that keeps it locked in place.

Available in White and Black colors, the Atlas Pro costs $129.99. At that price, it doesn’t make it an instant upgrade if you already own the original Atlas. That said, the Atlas Pro offers genuine innovation and enough quality-of-life features that your wrist will thank you if you do decide to hit the purchase button.
