Moto Watch can go nearly two weeks and brings Polar’s pro-tier fitness perks

Motorola has just introduced a new smartwatch at CES, joining the reveal of its first book-style foldable phone and object tracker. Fittingly named the Moto Watch, the latest wearable from Motorola has been designed in collaboration with Polar, a well-known name among performance athletes and professionals for wearable-driven fitness tracking.

What’s special about it?

The biggest draw, of course, is the battery life. Motorola says its latest smartwatch can go up to 13 days on a single charge. Additionally, its fast-charging chops ensure a full day of usage with just five minutes of plugged-in time. That’s a huge sigh of relief, especially in an era when smartwatches can barely make it past two days at best.

The Polar partnership brings its own set of benefits. For example, the smart calorie logging system also breaks “down the amount of energy spent during a workout as well as their daily caloric expenditure.” It also offers a peek into the calorie burnout targets during a workout.

The Activity Score serves as a hub where users can take a look at their daily exercise stats and gauge the intensity. It also nudges users to move when it detects prolonged idle sessions. The Moto Watch also dives deeper into sleep health analysis.

What else is on the table?

Motorola’s latest smartwatch can break down sleep score, show recovery levels, and offer a comprehensive overview of light, deep, and REM sleep stages. It also delivers a feature called Nightly Recharge, which is somewhat similar to the Sleep Score system on the Apple Watch.

Motorola says it’s “an overnight recovery measurement that demonstrates how one’s body has responded to stress, so they can pivot accordingly and reach their training goals.” The Moto Watch’s build is IP68-rated, while location tracking is handled by dual-band GPS support.

Talking about the specs, it features a 1.43-inch round OLED screen protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3. Motorola is yet to reveal the asking price, but says the Moto Watch will go on sale starting January 22 in a PANTONE Volcanic Ash color via its online storefront.
