Over a year ago, Google announced Opal, a tool that lets users create mini apps using AI. A few months later, Google brought that capability to Google AI Studio for building and deploying apps. There are plenty of third-party tools out there as well, such as Replit, which allow users to vibe code their own apps and even publish them. Meta is finally joining that bandwagon, but with a twist.

Earlier today, the company announced that users can now build their own interactive experiences in the Muse app. Instead of calling them apps or mini apps, Meta refers to them as Spaces, describing each one as a custom experience built around a user’s interests and daily routine. All you have to do is describe the idea to Muse, and it will build it. You can keep refining a space afterward by asking Muse to add missing pieces, change the look, or tweak how it works.

Your spaces live in the same app, and you can pin them to the sidebar or your main tabs, hide them, or even schedule when they appear. For example, a weekly planner can show up during the workweek and make way for weekend plans on Saturday. As far as experiences go, you can build anything from a trivia game to a trip planner.

Meta notes that you can build yourself a shopping hub that serves as a home for all your wish lists, product listings, and gift ideas. Likewise, users can build a music tracker to follow their favorite artists and get alerted about new concert dates. Other fun ideas include a school dashboard, a wedding planner, a podcast studio for brainstorming, research, and scripting, an order tracker, a client hub, and more.

Playing around with spaces in Muse lately — tell Muse what you need and it builds it.

The broad idea is that instead of leaving ideas unfinished, users can simply take them to Muse, and it will build each one from scratch as its own custom experience. Think of it as an app within an app. Meta says the spaces you build in Muse are personal from the start. Once you connect the apps you use, they keep updating in the background with things like price changes and savings progress, so they’re always ready to help. Spaces is now available everywhere Muse is available.

Alongside Spaces, Meta is also rolling out specialized models to power Meta AI and Muse. These models are trained using learnings from Muse Wonder, the company’s most capable model series yet, and are claimed to be better at remembering important context and recovering when a task runs into trouble.
