Marvel Rivals Season 3 Will Add Phoenix And Blade

Blade and Phoenix are joining the Marvel Rivals roster as part of Season 3: The Abyss. The multiplayer title’s next big event kicks off next week on July 11.

Season 3: The Abyss centers on the arrival of the symbiote god Knull (AKA the King in Black), who awakens within the core of Klyntar. The Phoenix arrives to put a stop to Knull’s plans, but will need the help of another warrior who feels right at home in the night: Blade.

Phoenix arrives at the launch on July 11. She’s a ranged Duelist, described as being able to disrupt formation from the flank using agile mobility while also pressuring tightly grouped enemies head-on. He Ultimate sees her merge with the Phoenix Force to deal overwhelming damage while also clearing all enemy summons from the arena. Check out her character trailer below.

Season 3 introduces four new Team-Up abilities while retiring two existing ones. A new competitive mode is also coming later in Season 3.5. That mid-season update will also introduce Blade to the roster. You can check out the entire Season 3 development update to learn of all the incremental updates and changes being introduced to the game.

Be sure to check out our Marvel Rivals review as well as this opinion piece on how the game’s success evokes the early years of the MCU.
