Motorola has built some of my favorite foldables and flagship phones. I had a great time with both the Razr Fold and last year’s Signature. So when the company began teasing the Signature 27, I couldn’t help be excited. The new model comes with Qualcomm’s blazing-fast Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, and better still, it is finally getting a proper global release.

One of the reasons I was obsessed with the last-gen Signature was its amazing price tag. But it seems like that budget flagship dream might be officially dead. Portuguese retailer MegaPC has prematurely listed a 12GB RAM and 512GB storage Signature 27 in Pantone Coal Smoke for €1,594.90 (approx. $1,775).

This is a massive jump

For context, the original Signature debuted for a little over $600 in certain regions, while it released in the EU for €999, which is a little over $1,100 for the same 12GB/512GB configuration. If the retailer listing is remotely representative of Motorola’s intended pricing, we’re looking at an increase approaching 60%.

The Signature 27 certainly brings big upgrades. Motorola has given it Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, a wild 200MP periscope camera, Bang & Olufsen-tuned audio, and seven years of software support.

The other Motorola leak is more encouraging

The same retailer has also listed the unannounced Razr Flex 27, reportedly with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, for €1,510.90 (approx. $1,680) in Pantone Coriander and Dark Botanical Garden. To recall, this is the new wide foldable, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and iPhone Duo.

Motorola’s existing Razr Fold launched in Europe at €1,999.99 and costs $1,899.99 in the US, so the Flex could occupy a cheaper tier if the listing proves accurate. Keep in mind that these aren’t official prices and could very well be placeholder ones that don’t accurately represent the official pricing. But every now and then, such listings reveal a bit more about the potential price range.
