On Friday, Sony Santa Monica Studios revealed that the upcoming God of War Laufey is coming sooner than expected. The game arrives February 16, 2027.

God of War Laufey was revealed during PlayStation’s Summer State of Play event where it revealed its existence and then shared the opening approximate 23 minutes of the game. The game follows Kratos’ wife and Atreus’ mother, Laufey (or Faye). It follows her adventures after her death in the afterlife of the gods, known as the Everywhen according to Laufey’s talking gelatinous cube and sword ribbon partners. The concept is novel for God of War and seems to take place during the events of God of War (2018), but it considering the world is called the Everywhen, it’s hard to say exactly when the game takes place on the God of War timeline.
