Hot off the heels of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade hitting Switch 2 (and running extremely well), Square Enix has announced the second part of the Remake trilogy, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is hitting Switch 2 just a few months after its predecessor finally made the leap. While Final Fantasy VII Remake focuses on the party’s time in Midgar, Rebirth sees the party escape the metropolis to explore several sprawling, open biomes across the Planet.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth tells the story of a party not only on the run from the forces of Shinra, but also in pursuit of the powerful Sephiroth in search of answers. The vast majority of the game stars Cloud Strife and his friends, but we also get glimpses of the past through sequences starring Zack Fair. In addition to a much broader story, exploration-based open areas, and myriad evolved gameplay elements, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth adds several minigames, including the well-liked Queen’s Blood card battler and a fun piano game that allows you to experiment with music or play songs from the soundtrack.
