Creaseless foldable phones are here sooner than Apple and Samsung will pull it off

Foldable phones have been around for years, but one of the biggest design frustrations has been the visible crease along the internal display. Thankfully, that may finally be fading into history sooner than many expected. Two upcoming devices, the Honor Magic V6 and the OPPO Find N6, are both teasing creaseless inner screens, apparently pushing display technology toward a smoother experience before Apple’s rumored first foldable or Samsung’s next-gen models do.

BREAKING 🚨🚨🚨

The crease has long been a sore point for foldables. Even though modern book-style designs like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series have dramatically reduced it compared with early devices, a visible line remains. That subtle ridge can reflect light or create a slight texture under your fingertip, reminding users that the screen bends there.

Honor and OPPO’s crease-free push

Honor’s upcoming Magic V6, set to be unveiled on March 1 at MWC 2026, has already been shown in official images on Weibo with an internal display that appears completely flat, with no visible crease line even when viewed from an angle. Honor executives have framed the smoother panel as a meaningful innovation, achieved without sacrificing thinness, battery life, or overall user experience.

On the other hand, OPPO’s Find N6 is teasing a similar leap. Early teasers highlight an inner display that shows no observable crease, and behind-the-scenes footage suggests the panel withstands hundreds of thousands of fold cycles without forming a line. That’s especially impressive given how creases typically worsen over time due to repeated opening and closing.

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is expected later in 2026 or beyond, and it may still include a subtle crease rather than a completely seamless display. Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also rumored to use a wrinkle-free OLED panel, though it remains to be seen whether it can truly deliver on the crease-free promise. Still, for fans of large, flexible screens, 2026 could finally be the year the crease starts to fade away.
