OpenAI introduced apps in ChatGPT earlier this year as a way to help users interact with third-party services without leaving the chat window. The feature launched with support for a handful of apps but has steadily expanded to include options like Peloton and Tripadvisor. Now, Apple Music has joined the lineup.
9to5Mac reports that, much like the Spotify integration, the Apple Music app in ChatGPT doesn’t stream songs inside the chat window. It’s essentially a way to let users interact with the music streaming service using natural-language prompts to discover new music, create playlists, or get personalized recommendations.

For example, users can now tell ChatGPT to “Create a playlist of the top indie songs from the 2000s on Apple Music,” and it will handle all the work to generate a corresponding playlist in Apple Music. Users can also ask it to mix genres, recommend mood-based tracks, or find lesser-known hits, making it easier than ever to create playlists and discover new songs.
Connect your Apple Music account to ChatGPT
If you’re an Apple Music subscriber, you can head over to the Apps section in ChatGPT on the web or mobile, select Apple Music, and connect your Apple Music account to ChatGPT. You can then try the integration by either mentioning Apple Music in your prompt, selecting it from ChatGPT’s app selector, or starting your prompt with “/Apple Music.”
While the integration is available for all ChatGPT users, including those on the free tier, Apple Music requires an active subscription. If you’re not subscribed, you can try the Spotify integration, which offers similar functionality but doesn’t require a paid subscription.
With Apple Music now available within ChatGPT, managing playlists and discovering music should become effortless. Whether you’re looking to revisit old favorites, uncover hidden gems, or create the perfect playlist for any mood or occasion, ChatGPT can do the heavy lifting for you. It turns music exploration into a simple conversation, making the experience much more intuitive.
