Ubisoft has announced that 2023’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is getting a major free update, introducing New Game Plus and a third-person mode. This update will be released shortly before the upcoming third Avatar film.

New Game Plus will let players replay the story with every unlocked skill from their initial playthrough. Third-person mode, a highly requested feature from players, can be toggled on-the-fly with a button press to let players see their Na’vi in action. A developer video also reveals Massive Entertainment is reworking Frontier of Pandora’s gameplay, camera, and animations to properly accommodate the new perspective.

This update is coming to all versions of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora on December 5 ahead of the theatrical premiere of Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19. It’s the latest in a slew of significant post-launch content updates to hit the game since its launch on December 7, 2023. You can read our review of the launch version, in which we scored Frontiers of Pandora a 7.75 out of 10, here.
