After multiple rounds of rumors and leaks, Ubisoft has officially confirmed a Worldwide Reveal Showcase for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The reveal was first rumored for last week, only for fresh rumors to push it to this week instead. Ubisoft has now put that speculation to rest.
The event goes live on April 23 at 9AM PDT / 4PM UTC / 6PM CEST on YouTube. Ubisoft even leaned into the whole saga, dubbing it “Gaming’s Worst Kept Secret” in its teaser video. That’s hardly an exaggeration given how long the rumors have been circulating online.
What can you expect to see at the Black Flag Resynced showcase
The showcase is expected to bring a cinematic trailer, gameplay footage, and a release date. Current rumors point to a July 9, 2026 launch window.
As for what’s actually changed in the game, reports suggest new crewmates, new quests, improved underwater exploration, and new Backstory chapters. Assassin’s Creed games like Valhalla and Shadows leaned heavily into RPG mechanics, with a tighter, character-focused design.
However, the remake is said to stay true to its action-adventure roots. Insider Gaming describes it as a “solo adventure and character-driven experience.” That should come as a relief if you were worried about Black Flag Resynced straying too far from what made the original great.
What other Assassin’s Creed projects are currently in development?
Ubisoft also has several other projects in the works across the franchise. Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe is a darker, narrative-driven entry set during a pivotal historical period. Codename Invictus is a new multiplayer PvP project being built by the team behind For Honor, and Assassin’s Creed Jade is a mobile RPG set in ancient China.
Wednesday’s showcase may be all about Black Flag Resynced, but Ubisoft is clearly keeping the franchise pipeline busy on multiple fronts.
