Apple just launched a new entry-level configuration of the 14-inch MacBook Pro.

Even though the design and core hardware are identical, it gets the new M6 processor, which is also debuting in today’s iMac refresh.

Here’s a quick recap of the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 silicon

What performance upgrades does the new MacBook Pro get?

Among the biggest upgrades is battery life, which goes up to 24 hours on a single charge. Apple claims this is the longest battery life it has offered on a laptop so far.

For performance, the new MacBook Pro gets next-gen M6 silicon with up to a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. The company claims a 30% performance boost for graphics-related chores and a 25% lift for AI-related workflows compared to the M5-powered MacBook Pro.

Like the iMac, this time the focus is on on-device AI and local AI processing. To that end, Apple has equipped its latest laptop with a dual 16-core Neural Engine, claimed to be 1.9X faster than its M5-powered sibling.

Pre-orders open October 28, with sales starting November 6

That means faster on-device AI tasks like image generation, Apple Intelligence features, and other AI workloads.

Apple is also enhancing the connectivity portfolio, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for faster wireless connections. The new M6 MacBook Pro comes with 16GB of unified memory on the base model, up to 32GB, and memory bandwidth climbs to 170GB per second.

The asking price for the base model is $1,999. In the US, buyers can also get it for $38.99 per month over 36 months. Pre-orders go live on October 28, 2026, and shipments are expected to begin on November 6, with in-store availability at Apple Stores on the same day.
