Apple’s Creator Studio bundles six pro apps in a shockingly affordable subscription

Apple has a new software bundle for you that gives you access to the company’s most popular and useful pro-grade content creation apps, called Apple Creator Studio. You’d think that the bundle would be super expensive, but that’s not the case. In fact, it’s one of the most value-for-money services the company has ever launched. Here’s why.

The idea behind Apple Creator Studio is to provide video editors, music producers, motion graphics designers, and other creative professionals with a single place to access the company’s most powerful tools, without purchasing 6 different apps, signing up for their monthly subscriptions, or spending a fancy amount.

Meet Apple Creator Studio: giving creators of every kind easy access to powerful, intuitive tools for video, music, imaging, and productivity, all supercharged by intelligent features that speed up and elevate their work. pic.twitter.com/UrOlzQTGRo

What you actually get with Apple Creator Studio

Apple’s Creator Studio subscription provides access to six apps: Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor, and MainStage. It covers everything from video, audio, and graphics to motion and productivity, all under one umbrella.

As part of the subscription, Final Cut Pro gets new features like transcript-based search and beat detection for speeding up editing. Logic Pro, on the other hand, gets new AI-based tools like Synth Player and Chord ID. Then there’s Pixelmator Pro, a powerful image editor that Apple purchased recently (and added Apple Pencil support to).

While these apps are available on both Mac and iPad, the other three are available only on Macs. I’m talking about Motion (for creating motion graphics), Compressor (for custom video export settings), and MainStage (a live performance tool).

The Creator Studio subscription also offers free upgrades to Apple apps like Keynote, Pages, Numbers, and Freeform, such as smart templates, premium content, and AI-assisted tools.

A price that undercuts the competition

What’s even exciting is the price: $12.99 per month or $129 per year. The subscription can be shared with up to six family members through the Family Sharing plan at no additional cost. Interested buyers can also avail of a free one-month trial to get the hang of things.

With the purchase of a new Mac or a qualifying iPad (with at least 6GB of RAM and an A16/M1 series chip or later), customers will get three months of the Apple Creator Studio for free, the company mentions in the official press release.

While $12.99 itself is an excellent price for the bundle, Apple offers the Creator Studio for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year to students or teachers (as part of its education pricing). The subscription brings immense value, primarily because it would cost around $600 to purchase each of the included apps.

Further, the $12.99 price point undercuts Adobe’s Creative Cloud services ($69.99) by a huge margin. Adobe still offers slightly broader app coverage, especially in illustration and web design. The Creator Studio gives professionals a cheaper and convenient way to access pro-grade tools without drilling a hole in their pocket.

Creator Studio will be available on the App Store for Mac and iPad users from January 28, 2025.
