Amazon MGM Studios’ Madden movie is currently in production, and though we don’t yet know when this biopic about the former Oakland Raiders head coach (and famed commentary whose namesake is used in EA’s longrunning football game series), the studio has released a first look at Nicolas Cage as the titular star, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Cage as Madden is perfect casting if this first look is anything to go by.
Elsewhere in the movie, The Dark Knight star Christian Bale will play Al Davis, the Raiders owner during Madden’s time as the team’s head coach. He and Cage will be joined by John Mulaney, who will portray EA founder Trip Hawkins, Kathryn Hahn as Virginia Madden, and Sienna Miller as Carol Davis.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will follow Madden’s journey to the Raiders’ Super Bowl run in 1976 and continue beyond into his ventures in television commentating, video games, and more.
