Strava has recently rolled out a major strength training update, and Amazfit users are among the first to benefit from it. The update lets strength workouts sync with more detail, instead of showing up as basic gym sessions.

Amazfit is one of 14 launch partners, alongside Garmin, COROS, WHOOP, Fitbod, Hevy, Runna, JEFIT, Caliber, Liftoff, Motra, REMAKER, iFIT Personal Trainer, and 24 Hour Fitness, that will be getting the update this summer.

Strava is giving strength training more space

Strava is adding a new Workout Log for strength training. Users can record sets, reps, and weight in a log designed specifically for lifting, making it easier to track progress over time, revisit previous sessions, and repeat workouts.

The update also adds auto-populated muscle maps. These show which muscle groups were trained during a workout. It gives users a clearer view of how their training is spread across the week, which could help spot patterns, such as repeatedly training of the same areas or leaving others out.

Another addition in this update is the five strength-focused shareables for gym milestones and workout details. Users can post these updates with friends, clubs, and the wider Strava community.

Strava is targeting the hybrid athlete

The update is also meant for hybrid athletes who combine running, cycling, lifting, CrossFit, and mobility work in the same week. The improved Workout Log and muscle map can prevent overtraining a single muscle group across multiple activities and manage recovery more effectively.

The update will start arriving for users across the globe in the coming weeks. Strava and Amazfit have not specified an exact rollout date as of writing.
