Pokémon Red & Blue Orchestral Tribute Releasing On Vinyl And Streaming

The Pokémon franchise is notable for many reasons. Still, even amidst the series’ astounding legacy, the soundtracks are as beloved as nearly any part of the individual games or the franchise as a whole. Game Informer can exclusively reveal that Materia Collective, an independent soundtrack music group and publisher, is releasing an homage to the iconic soundtracks of Pokémon Red & Blue. Symphonic Journeys: Pokémon Red & Blue is an orchestral tribute to the music of those first Pokémon games that will be available through a special vinyl release, as well as your streaming service of choice.

Symphonic Journeys: Pokémon Red & Blue reimagines the familiar music of those first Pokémon games with the grandeur of a symphony orchestra. Junichi Masuda’s original compositions were reimagined by composer Nolan Markey, who has provided music for Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Ahsoka, and The Legend of Vox Machina.

The album’s vinyl version is a 1xLP with options for Fire Red, Water Blue, Electric Yellow, and black vinyl. The tip-on jacket features a velvet touch finish, and the collector’s edition includes original artwork by Absolum and layout design by Rozen. You can check out the beautiful physical versions in the gallery below.

Materia Collective features various gaming soundtracks on its website, including vinyl tributes and original soundtracks. In addition to preorders for Symphonic Journeys: Pokémon Red & Blue, you can find music from Undertale, Hollow Knight, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and more on their store.

Game Informer can also exclusively share two of the songs featured on these soundtracks. Check out these new arrangements of “Gym Leader Battle” and “Bicycle” below.

Symphonic Journeys: Pokémon Red & Blue will be available on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify. You can pre-save the album on your streaming service of choice here. The vinyls will be available at the Materia Store and other retailers. The Water Blue variant is exclusive to the Materia Store, while the Electric Yellow variant will only be available at select shows. Preorders start on June 20, the same day the album hits streaming services. The estimated shipping timeframe for the vinyls is Q4 2025.
