Razer, being Razer, made its latest earbuds scream gaming-inspired. Sticking true to its aesthetics, the new Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma brings some nifty features in a wired package. The company has unveiled the Hammerhead V3 Chroma, a new pair of USB-C gaming earbuds packing active noise cancellation, dual drivers, and, naturally, customizable RGB lighting.
Priced at $79.99, these earbuds are aimed at gamers who want the convenience of wired audio without sacrificing modern features. It joins the existing Hammerhead V3 HyperSpeed, though those are a pair of wireless earbuds.
RGB lighting, ANC, and everything in between
According to Razer’s official announcement, the Hammerhead V3 Chroma feature a dual-driver arrangement, combining an 11mm dynamic driver for bass with a dedicated 6mm tweeter for higher frequencies. You also get feed-forward active noise cancellation to help block out background sounds, whether you’re gaming at home or commuting. PC users can enable THX 7.1 Surround Sound through Razer Synapse 4, which promises improved positional audio for games where identifying enemy footsteps and other sound cues matters.
For everyday listening, Razer includes four audio presets covering Gaming, Music, Movies, and Calls, alongside a customizable EQ profile. So you won’t have to stick to the same experience when you’re gaming or listening to music. Coming to the more eye-catching part, each earbud features Razer Chroma RGB illumination, supporting 16.8 million colors and customizable lighting effects. You can even synchronize the lighting with other compatible Razer peripherals.

Having RGB lighting on the tiny bit of the earphones that mostly sits inside your ear seems pointless, but then again, what’s to stop you from having something a little excessive.
A small USB-C detail that makes a surprisingly big difference
Perhaps the most thoughtful feature is the 90-degree USB-C connector. Unlike conventional straight connectors that protrude from the bottom of a phone, Razer’s right-angled plug sits close to the device. This should keep the cable from interfering with your grip when playing in landscape orientation, especially on smartphones and handheld gaming consoles.

The wired connection also sidesteps Bluetooth audio latency and eliminates the need to charge the earbuds. Of course, the connected device still supplies power for features like ANC and RGB lighting. Other additions include an in-line controller for playback, volume, and ANC adjustments, an omnidirectional microphone for calls and voice chat, and IPX4 splash resistance.
The Razer Hammerhead V3 Chroma are available now for $79.99 in the US through Razer’s official store and authorized retailers. This product also arrives just weeks after the company announced the new Barracuda V2 Pro, which is another piece of audio gaming gear.
