CleanMyMac is one of the best tools for getting rid of the junk files on your Mac and improving its performance. Today, MacPaw, the company behind CleanMyMac, has added two new features that aim to help you tame your emails and Chrome tabs.

In a March survey of CleanMyMac customers who use Gmail, about six in ten called inbox clutter at least a moderate problem, and nearly half were still deleting junk one email at a time. And who cannot relate to dozens of open Chrome tabs eating all the RAM.

With CleanMyMac’s new features, you can finally fix these issues.

What can Email Cleanup do for your inbox?

Rather than picking off emails one by one, you can now clear them in batches. Want to wipe out every promo from that one store that emails you daily? Sort by sender and it’s done in a few clicks. You can also group mail by category, year, or attachment size, and unsubscribe from several mailing lists at once.

Gmail shares its space with Google Drive and Google Photos, so CleanMyMac also shows how much storage you can recover. So if you are on the free plan, this can help you resolve storage issues.

Since deleted emails stay in Gmail’s Trash for 30 days, you can always go back and recover emails you deleted accidentally. Note that drafts are the exception and disappear for good, so make sure before deleting them. Email Cleanup uses your regular Google sign-in, which you can disconnect from the app anytime. MacPaw says it never shares your email contents, and your Chrome history stays on your Mac.

Can it really help with tab overload?

Tab hoarding is a habit a lot of us share. Browser Care uses a Chrome extension connected to CleanMyMac to show how much memory your tabs are using in near real time. You can then pause the ones slowing your Mac down.

It also catches duplicate tabs across windows and pages you left open days ago. You decide what goes. The app won’t touch a tab unless you tell it to. If you already pay for CleanMyMac, both features are available today at no extra cost.
