Amazon’s Kindle e-readers have a whole new look this fall. There are three new Kindle models, gorgeous metallic colors, and several new accessories. The beauty of the metallic options has caught the eye of most of my friends (and even my editor, who is not usually a fan of e-readers), but if there’s one thing you should buy out of all the new Kindle gear, it’s the least expensive offering: the Amazon Kindle Click ($35).

The Kindle Click is Amazon’s first Bluetooth Kindle page turner that will pair with its two latest generations of Kindles, from both 2024 and 2026. Many of us have been using third-party page-turning remotes for our Kindles for a while, but these designs are often cumbersome, with screen-blocking clips and multiple components to keep track of. Now there’s a single device that costs a little more than some of the third-party designs but works much better. It’s the Kindle accessory I’m recommending everyone buy (so long as you have a compatible Kindle, of course).

The Best of Kindle’s 2026 Lineup

The Kindle Click is a lightweight handheld remote that connects to your Kindle e-reader over Bluetooth, letting you turn pages, scroll up and down your screen, and even adjust the brightness. Two large buttons on the front turn the page, and then two smaller buttons on the right ridge let you adjust the brightness. The brightness adjustment was more useful to me than I expected, and a really nice bonus for such an inexpensive accessory. It charges via USB-C and comes with a little wrist strap, so if you were to let go of it, you won’t drop it.

The only slightly unintuitive thing is that when you use the buttons to click down a page, the higher button moves you down the page while the lower button moves you back up. It makes sense once you think about it, but it might throw you off at first from a visual perspective until you get the hang of it.

A Kindle page turner is a nice accessibility accessory for folks who might not be able to comfortably hold up their Kindle and tap the pages regularly. I love it as a gal who has struggled with wrist cysts, and plenty of my fellow Kindle users have setups where a remote would come in handy just for their own comfort. Obviously, if the Kindle is sitting in your hand, you probably don’t want the remote in your hand at the same time, so I think this is best paired with some kind of Kindle holder or repurposed tablet holder. I have a few favorites, but there are tons of options out there.

The Click’s design is a huge improvement over the typical aftermarket options. I found those models irritating because they usually had two separate parts—a clip you attach to your screen, which often blocked part of it, and a separate remote that you hold. Both of them needed to be charged separately. Now, I’m free of that burden and free of charging tiny batteries that only seemed to last one reading session. The Kindle Click doesn’t specify battery life beyond “lasts for weeks,” but with how much larger the Click body is compared to cheap third-party options, I’m hopeful the battery itself is bigger.
