Just yesterday, we saw the Fold 8’s CAD renders, indicating that Samsung isn’t reimagining its most expensive foldable this year. Today, the same source (Android Headlines, in collaboration with OnLeaks) has published the CAD renders of yet another Samsung foldable, the Fold 8 Wide, or at least that’s what the outlet is calling it.

For those catching up, the Fold 8 Wide is a brand-new, wider foldable that the company is preparing to launch this summer, aiming to compete with Apple’s purported iPhone Fold.

What does the Fold 8 Wide actually like?

The Fold 8 Wide ditches the tall, narrow form factor of Samsung’s existing foldables, which open into a massive but oddly shaped screen that isn’t optimised for viewing content in its native orientation.

As seen in the high-quality renders, the phone features a shorter, wider design (think passport, not paperback), so that when unfolded, the inner screen sits in a far more practical aspect ratio for consuming content. The overall silhouette remains similar to the leaked software animation from February 2026.

When it comes to dimensions, it unfolds to 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.9mm (4.3mm without the bezels) and folds to 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8mm, making it slightly thicker than the Fold 7.

Factor in the camera bump, and you’re looking at 14.6 mm of thickness, a chunky figure for what is, after all, only a dual-camera array.

Samsung Galaxy Z WideFold

What specs are we expecting?

Curiously, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is depicted in the alleged renders with two rear cameras only, mirroring the strategy Samsung adopted with the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge and Samsung’s clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip phones. However, other details such as camera sensor size and resolution remain a mystery.

The leak claims a 5.4-inch external display and a 7.6-inch inner flexible panel on the upcoming phone. It will reportedly be offered in variants with 12GB and 16GB of RAM, while storage options include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

Notably, the battery capacity could match the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 at 5,000mAh, with identical wired fast charging numbers that max out at 45W output. The report also mentions a Summer 2026 launch, which should align with the second annual Unpacked event at Samsung.

Interestingly, the upcoming iPhone Fold is also expected to follow a similar wide form factor, and might even use the same laser-perforated flexible display panel as Samsung’s upcoming slate of foldables.
