Samsung concepts put an OLED screen on a classroom robot and retro music gear

Every year, Samsung’s display division gives us a taste of concept devices with cutting-edge screens, some of which eventually appear on mass-market hardware down the road. Remember the dual folding concept from 2021, which only became a proper product in late 2025 as the Galaxy Z TriFold? Well, at CES 2026, Samsung is giving another glimpse into the future.

Robots deserve OLED, too

At CES 2026, the company is focusing on OLED screen innovations and how they can be applied across a wide range of devices. Among them is the AI OLED Bot, a robotic companion with a massive 13.4-inch circular display and AI-driven conversational capabilities. It appears to have two curved arms, though it’s unclear what kind of tasks they can handle.

The company envisions the robot as a “teaching assistant robot in a university setting, guiding students to classrooms and providing information such as professor profiles.” Of course, this is a concept device, so it’s unclear whether Samsung will ever put it on the shelves.

Given Samsung’s record with the Ballie AI companion robot, which was showcased back in 2020 and promised to go on sale in 2024 (and still not on sale as of 2026), I wouldn’t hold my breath in anticipation of the AI OLED Bot. It’s a pretty neat concept, and now that even Samsung’s fridges have a screen and AI, the odds are slightly better for this one compared to Ballie.

Prepping OLED for the future

Samsung is also dipping its toes into the retro music instrument category and giving them an OLED makeover. The aptly-named AI OLED Cassette features a 1.5-inch round OLED display. Two of them, actually, though the size of the device is more like a cassette player than an average cassette.

Then there’s the AI OLED Turntable, which replaces the entire vinyl record with a large 13.4-inch round OLED screen. Of course, that also means all the other parts of a typical turntable, such as the tonearm, anti-skate, and counterweight, have also been removed. The device is merely a silhouette of a turntable, something Samsung justifies as a combination of advanced display technology with retro, analog designs.

Samsung is also showcasing a head-worn wearable concept equipped with its next-gen micro displays for XR devices such as smart glasses and headsets. These 1.4-inch RGB OLEDoS units offer an astounding pixel density of 5,000 PPI, which is nearly three times higher compared to an average 4K TV.
