You may get better cameras on Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy A series phones

Samsung’s next-gen Galaxy A series devices could bring notable improvements on the camera front, according to details spotted in leaked firmware for the upcoming Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57. The code points to upgraded camera hardware on both models that could enhance image quality, particularly in low-light conditions.

According to Smartprix, the Galaxy A57 could feature a triple camera setup, with the main camera using either a 50MP Sony IMX906 or Samsung ISOCELL S5KGNJ sensor depending on the region. The ultra-wide camera is tipped to use a 13MP ISOCELL S5K3L6 sensor, while the macro camera will rely on a 5MP GalaxyCore GC05A3 sensor.

Compared to the triple camera setup on the Galaxy A56, buyers can expect better low-light performance from the Galaxy A57’s main camera and sharper ultra-wide shots from the new 13MP sensor. For selfies, the upcoming mid-ranger is said to feature a 12MP ISOCELL S5K3LC sensor.

As for the cheaper Galaxy A37, the leaked firmware suggests it will share the same main camera as the Galaxy A57, which should be a significant step up from the Galaxy A36. However, the device is still expected to stick with 8MP ultra-wide, 12MP selfie, and 5MP macro sensors like its predecessor.

Launch timeline and pricing remain unclear

Samsung is expected to release the next-gen Galaxy A series devices earlier than usual, with a recent leak suggesting a February 2026 launch. The company is also rumored to be considering a price hike due to rising component costs, and the improved camera hardware might help it justify the increase.

So far, Samsung hasn’t made anything official. More details about the upcoming Galaxy A series devices are expected to surface in the weeks leading up to the launch. In the meantime, pricing for the Galaxy S26 series could offer early cues about the direction Samsung may take across its 2026 lineup.
