What’s happened? Renowned tipster @UniverseIce has shared the specifications of the purported Galaxy S26 and how it compares to the current-generation Galaxy S25.

Why is this important? It also appears that Samsung is finally doing away with 128GB storage variants with the baseline Galaxy S series handset. Storage could start at 256GB for the Galaxy S26.

  • However, the camera setup, including the 50MP primary sensor, 12MP ultrawide sensor, and the 10MP telephoto sensor, might remain the same.
  • The front camera on the Galaxy S26 should also remain the same as that on the Galaxy S25: a 12MP selfie camera.
  • On the positive side, the handset could feature a larger 4,300 mAh battery that should last a couple of more hours between charges, with similar charging speeds.

Why should I care? Despite an increase in the battery capacity, the Galaxy S26 might only gain two grams in weight, which is practically negligible.

  • In fact, the company could make the handset 0.3mm slimmer (7.2mm vs. 6.9mm).
  • Moreover, the Galaxy S26 could receive several meaningful updates, such as a more powerful chipset, higher storage on the base variant, and a larger battery. This should be good news for anyone planning to purchase the smartphone at launch.

OK, what’s next? Unlike the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+ might not get as many upgrades. The leaked specifications from the tipster suggest that the S26+ could borrow its entire spec sheet, except for weight, from the Galaxy S25+, except for a new chipset.
