Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War IV Reignites The Flames Of Battle Next Year

Warhammer 40k is returning to the fields of battle. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has been officially announced, and is currently set for a 2026 launch.

Though the first Dawn of War recently got a Definitive Edition release on PC, the last new release in the series goes back to Warhammer: Dawn of War III in 2017.

In today’s trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025, we saw glimpses of some of the playable factions in the new Dawn of War. The Space Marines, represented by the Blood Ravens, as well as the Orks and Necrons. There are four playable factions set for launch.

We also saw some gameplay, which looks like the classic real-time strategy that we’ve come to know from this branch of the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. It’s a brief announcement, but for long-patient RTS fans, a pretty exciting one. We’ll hopefully learn more as we approach the new year.
